Review

"This is one of the most comprehensive textbooks I have ever come across. It truly leaves no stones unturned and each area is covered in impressive scope and depth. It is an indispensable source of reference for cardiologists and non-cardiologists alike...I would strongly recommend this textbook as a worthy addition to the medical library of any primary or secondary care physician and the online version makes it a very practical reference tool for everyday use." - Nilar Than, Univadis (review of the 8th Edition)

User Reviews

Anyone familiar with Dr. Braunwald's superb cardiovascular exploits in the "Harrison's Principles of Internal Medicine" would not be surprised by the richness of this book.
The diligently crafted chapters are comprehensive, authoritative, well-illustrated, and include all the 'ins' and 'outs' of contemporary cardiology. It is one of the most consistent and coherent multi-authored texts in the field.
This single-volume CD-ROM package is a rich blend of evidence based medicine, best practice, and all the user-flexibility an e-book enthusiast would expect.
This is the classic cardiology textbook. It is comprehensive, with lots of graphs and illustrations. Yes it is big (over 2000 pages), but would likely be 500+ pages less without pictures. Some pictures are worth a thousand words.

Online at[...] is great. I had some trouble, but it was resolved quickly and I can access the book anywhere. The search feature is good.

I am currently using it for the boards. Yes, I have board review books from Mayo and Cleveland Clinic, but they tend to go over the big stuff, and the boards often are more detailed. The most recent guidelines from the AHA/ACC are at the end of each relative chapter. It is very readable compared to some other cardiology texts.
